In 1992, marking the 300 year anniversary of the event, the Salem 1692 Witch Trials Memorial was dedicated by Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel.
Accusations of witchcraft during this single event spanned over 20 different towns. There were approximately 150 formal accusations, 400-500 complaints, and exactly 20 people executed. In this memorial all the executed individuals have a stone bearing their name, death date & method of execution. Stones are placed in order of execution, to guide travelers chronologically.
